MARTINA GUASCO

Martina Guasco is a freelance licensed architect and assigned researcher working internationally across Europe, particularly Germany, Denmark and Italy.
Her expertise lies in the adaptive reuse and transformation of large-scale projects in the fields of legislation, building economy and project development (from concept to detailed design).
Alongside her professional practice, she is pursuing a PhD in Architectural Theory at the University of Genoa (UNIGE) - Department of Architecture and Design , Italy, along with the Danish firm Schmidt Hammer Lassen (SHL) Department of Innovation in Copenhagen, Denmark.
Her research explores the influence of the economy on both shaping architecture and contemporary ideologies of living, with particular focus on how these dynamics affect the (un)use and reuse of existing building stocks.
Broader individual interests encompass the ethical dimensions of architectural practice and its role in influencing the social dimension of today's cities.
